Pan American Veterinary Laboratories is a leading Veterinary Laboratory serving clients throughout the United States, with affiliate offices in Brazil and Argentina.

PAVL was founded in 1992 in Texas. In 1994 Bob Glass joined with Dr. Leonel Mendoza at Michigan State University to continue Dr. Mendoza’s work on an immunotherapeutic product to treat Pythiosis in dogs and horses. To date, over 700 cases of Pythiosis in equines, canines and humans have been treated with this product. Additionally an ELISA serologic test for the rapid diagnosis of this disease has been developed.

In 1999 the Pythium Immunotherapeutic product was patented by Michigan State University where Dr. Mendoza teaches and conducts research. In 2003 PAVL licensed the marketing rights for this product from MSU and USDA License was obtained early in 2004.
